How delivery zones work
Delivery zones let you define the areas you deliver to and set different fees, minimum order amounts, and estimated delivery times for each zone.
Types of delivery zones
Spatula supports two types of delivery zones:
Distance-based (radius) — set zones based on distance from your store. For example: 0-3km ($3 fee), 3-6km ($5 fee), 6-10km ($8 fee).
Suburb-based — search for and add specific suburbs. Each suburb has its own precise boundary polygon, so the zone exactly matches the suburb area.
Setting up distance-based zones
Go to Settings > Services.
Add delivery zones with minimum and maximum distances.
Set the delivery fee, minimum order amount, and estimated time for each zone.
Zones automatically chain — the next zone starts where the previous one ends.
Setting up suburb-based zones
Go to Settings > Services.
Switch to the Suburbs tab.
Search for a suburb name and state.
Click to add it as a delivery zone with its precise boundary.
Set the delivery fee, minimum order, and estimated time for each suburb.
How customers experience it
When a customer enters their delivery address at checkout, Spatula automatically matches their address to the correct delivery zone and applies the appropriate fee. If their address is outside your delivery zones, they see a clear message explaining that delivery is not available to their area.
