Accepting payments
Spatula supports multiple payment methods. Enable the ones that work for your business.
Available payment methods
Online card payments — customers pay securely with their credit or debit card when placing their order.
Cash on pickup/delivery — customers pay with cash when they collect their order or when it is delivered.
Card on delivery — customers pay by card when the delivery arrives (using your own card terminal).
Setting up card payments
Go to Settings > Payments.
Toggle on "Card Payments".
Follow the prompts to connect your payment account. You will need to provide your business details and bank account for payouts.
Once connected, customers can pay by card at checkout.
Cash payments
Toggle on "Cash" in Settings > Payments. No additional setup required. Customers will see cash as a payment option at checkout.
Card on delivery
Toggle on "Card on Delivery" in Settings > Payments. This lets customers choose to pay by card when their delivery arrives. You will need your own card terminal to process these payments.
GST and tax
Spatula automatically handles Australian GST calculations. Prices are GST-inclusive by default, which is standard for Australian food businesses.
