Custom Fees and Surcharges

What are custom fees?

Custom fees let you add surcharges to orders based on specific conditions — public holidays, late-night hours, or as a flat fee on all orders.

Types of custom fees

  • Fixed amount — a set dollar amount added to every applicable order (e.g., $2.00 public holiday surcharge).

  • Percentage — a percentage of the order subtotal (e.g., 10% Sunday surcharge).

Creating a custom fee

  1. Go to Settings > Payments.

  2. Click "+ Add Fee".

  3. Name the fee (e.g., "Public Holiday Surcharge").

  4. Choose fixed or percentage.

  5. Set the amount.

  6. Configure when it applies: always, on specific dates, or during specific hours.

Date-specific fees

Set fees that only apply on certain dates. Perfect for public holiday surcharges — add the fee, set the date, and it will automatically apply only on that day.

Time-based fees

Set fees that apply during specific hours. For example, a late-night surcharge between 10pm and midnight.

How customers see fees

Custom fees appear as a separate line item on the customer's checkout and receipt, with the fee name and amount clearly shown. This transparency builds trust with your customers.
