Staff roles and permissions

You can create staff accounts for your team members with different levels of access. This lets you give your kitchen staff order access without exposing sensitive settings or financial data.

Role presets

Spatula provides three role presets to get you started quickly:

  • Owner — full access to everything including settings, analytics, staff management, and marketing.

  • Manager — access to most features except advanced settings like integrations.

  • Staff — limited to viewing the dashboard and managing orders. Cannot change settings, edit the menu, or access customer data.

Custom permissions

You can customise permissions for any staff member beyond the presets. Available permissions include:

  • View Dashboard

  • View Orders / Manage Orders

  • Edit Menu

  • View Customers

  • Manage Staff

  • Edit Settings

  • View Analytics

  • Manage Marketing

Creating a staff account

  1. Go to the Staff page.

  2. Click "+ Add Staff".

  3. Enter their name, email, and phone number.

  4. Set a temporary password.

  5. Choose their role or set custom permissions.

Editing and removing staff

Click on any staff member to edit their details, change their role, or update their permissions. You can also delete staff accounts when team members leave.
