Delivery Address Autocomplete and Zone Matching

Seamless delivery ordering

When customers choose delivery at checkout, they get an intelligent address autocomplete experience:

How it works

  1. The customer starts typing their delivery address.

  2. Suggestions appear as they type, matching real Australian addresses.

  3. The customer selects their address from the dropdown.

  4. Spatula automatically determines which delivery zone the address falls in.

  5. The correct delivery fee is applied automatically.

Zone matching

The system matches addresses to your delivery zones using precise geographic calculations:

  • For distance-based zones, it calculates the straight-line distance from your store.

  • For suburb-based zones, it checks whether the address falls within the suburb boundary.

Customer feedback

  • Green banner — "Delivery available! Zone: [name], Fee: $X.XX" — the address is in a delivery zone.

  • Red message — "Sorry, we don't deliver to this area" — the address is outside all delivery zones.

Minimum order enforcement

If a delivery zone has a minimum order amount and the customer's cart does not meet it, a warning appears letting them know how much more they need to add.
