Live status updates for customers

When you close your store or pause a service from the merchant app, your storefront updates in real time — customers who are currently browsing see the change immediately without refreshing the page.

What customers see

  • Store closed — a full-screen overlay appears with your close reason (e.g., "Closed — Kitchen too busy"). Customers can dismiss it but cannot place orders.

  • Service paused — the paused service type is greyed out at checkout with a "(paused)" label. An amber banner suggests available alternatives.

Why this matters

Without real-time updates, customers might spend time building a cart only to find out the store is closed when they try to checkout. Real-time status prevents this frustrating experience and saves everyone time.
