Troubleshooting print issues

If receipts are not printing when orders come in, check these common causes:

1. Is the printing app running?

Check that the printing app is open and running on your device. It should show as a foreground service with a notification in your device's notification bar.

2. Is the printer connected?

For Bluetooth printers, make sure the printer is powered on and paired with your device. Open the printing app and check the printer status.

3. Is the printer out of paper?

Check for paper jams or empty paper rolls. The printing app may show a "Paper low" warning.

4. Check print status in the dashboard

In the order detail view, look for the print status indicator. It will show whether the receipt was "Sent to printer" or if printing failed.

5. Garbled or cut-off receipts

If receipts are printing but look garbled or cut off:

  • Make sure the paper width setting in the printing app matches your actual printer paper width (58mm or 80mm).

  • For external printers, verify the Bluetooth connection is stable — print issues often happen when the Bluetooth signal is weak.

6. Restart the printing app

If all else fails, close and reopen the printing app. It will reconnect to the server and resume polling for new orders.
