Preparation Time Settings

Setting preparation times

Preparation time tells customers how long they can expect to wait for their order. It is also used by the auto-status features to determine when to advance orders.

Default preparation time

Set your default preparation time in Settings > Store. This applies to all orders by default. A typical value is 15-25 minutes for a pizza shop.

Per-service preparation times

In Settings > Services, you can override the default preparation time for each service type. For example:

  • Pickup: 15 minutes

  • Delivery: 15 minutes (preparation only — delivery time is added separately)

  • Dine-in: 20 minutes

Order timing settings

Each service type also has order timing settings:

  • Minimum order lead time — the earliest a customer can schedule an order (e.g., at least 30 minutes from now).

  • Maximum prep time — the maximum time allowed before an order is considered overdue.

How customers see it

Customers see the estimated preparation time on the storefront when they select their service type. For delivery, the delivery zone's estimated time is added on top of the preparation time to give a total estimated time.
