Weather Banner on Your Storefront

What is the weather banner?

The weather banner is a small, friendly message that appears on your storefront and adapts to the local weather. On a cold rainy night it might read "Stormy out — perfect curry weather". On a hot summer afternoon it might read "Hot one today — try our cold drinks".

It is a simple way to make your storefront feel alive and connected to what is happening outside, and to gently steer customers toward menu items that suit the moment.

How it works

The banner reads the current temperature and weather conditions for your store's location, then matches them against a set of messages you have configured. The right message is shown at the right time, with no manual updating required.

Customers see the banner near the top of your menu page. It is subtle — not a popup — so it adds atmosphere without getting in the way.

Setting it up

  1. Open your Dashboard.

  2. Go to the Experiential section.

  3. Open the Weather Banner settings.

  4. Toggle the banner on.

  5. For each weather condition (hot, cold, rainy, mild), enter the message you want shown. You can also pick which menu items or categories to highlight if you wish.

  6. Save your changes.

You can leave any condition blank if you do not want a message for that case — the banner will simply not appear when those conditions are active.

Writing good banner messages

  • Keep them short — one short sentence is plenty.

  • Use the conditions to suggest a fitting item: hot soup on a cold day, fresh salads on a warm one.

  • Match your brand voice. Casual, warm and human reads best.

  • Avoid hard sells. The banner is a nudge, not an ad.

Tips

  • Update your messages seasonally so they stay fresh.

  • Pair the weather banner with daily specials for an even stronger nudge.

  • If you do not see the banner on your storefront, check that the feature is enabled and that you have at least one weather condition configured with a message.
