What are allergen profiles?
Customers with food allergies or intolerances can save an allergen profile to their account. The profile covers the fourteen common allergens, including gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, fish, shellfish, lupin, mustard, celery, sulphites and molluscs. Once a profile is set, the storefront warns the customer if a menu item contains an allergen they have flagged.
How customers set their profile
The customer signs in to their account on your storefront.
They open the Account menu and choose Allergens.
They tick the allergens they need to avoid.
They save the profile.
How warnings appear
When the customer browses your menu, items that contain a flagged allergen show a clear warning badge. On the product detail page, the specific allergens are highlighted so the customer can decide whether the dish is safe for them. The customer can still order the item — the warning is informational and does not block the order.
Keeping allergen data accurate
Make sure each product has its allergens recorded in the dashboard.
Review allergen tags whenever you change a recipe or supplier.
Encourage staff to confirm allergen details by phone or chat when a customer asks.
