What are time-of-day greetings?

Time-of-day greetings are short welcome messages that change depending on when a customer visits your storefront. A customer who lands on your site in the morning sees a different greeting from one who visits in the evening. Returning customers can also be greeted by name once they have signed in.

Setting up greetings

  1. Open the Experiential section of your dashboard.

  2. Choose Time-of-Day Greetings.

  3. Write a short message for each window — morning, lunch, afternoon and evening.

  4. Optionally enable the returning customer greeting which adds the customer's first name.

  5. Save your changes.

Examples

  • Morning: 'Good morning! Coffee and a bacon roll on us?'

  • Lunch: 'Lunch break sorted. Order in two minutes.'

  • Evening: 'Pizza night, sorted. What's it going to be tonight?'

Tips

  • Match each greeting to what is genuinely available at that time of day.

  • Refresh greetings every few weeks to keep them feeling fresh.

  • Keep messages short — two short sentences is plenty.
