What is the first order message?
The first order message is a one-time welcome shown to a customer when they place their very first order with your store. It appears on the order confirmation screen and helps you make a good first impression — a small thank you, a tip about your most-loved dish, or a friendly note from the team.
Setting it up
Open the Experiential section of your dashboard.
Choose First Order Message.
Write a headline and a short body of text.
Optionally attach a follow-up SMS or email so the customer hears from you again the next day.
Save your changes.
What works well
Keep it warm and human — read it out loud and check it sounds like you.
Suggest a popular dish or signature item they should try next time.
Mention the loyalty program if you run one — first orders are a perfect time to invite customers to join.
How it differs from milestone messages
The first order message only ever shows once — at the customer's very first order. Milestone messages appear later, at the tenth, twenty-fifth and fiftieth order. Together they help every customer feel recognised at every stage of their journey with you.
