What are server sections?
A server section is a group of tables looked after by one staff member during a shift. Splitting your floor into sections helps balance the workload across your team, makes it easy to know who is responsible for which guests, and supports tipping arrangements where servers keep their own table tips.
Creating sections
Open Bookings in your dashboard.
Choose Server Sections.
Click New Section and give it a name (for example, 'Window').
Pick a colour to make the section easy to spot on the floor plan.
Save the section.
Assigning sections to staff
Open the shift you are setting up.
Pick the section.
Assign a staff member from the list.
Repeat for each section.
Save the shift.
Once a shift is live, every booking placed against a table in that section is automatically tagged with the assigned server.
Tips
Re-balance sections weekly. Last week's quiet section may be this week's busiest.
Use clear, short section names — staff need to read them at a glance.
Pair sections with the floor plan editor so everyone can see their patch on the map.
