What are booking shifts?
Booking shifts define when bookings can be made and how often. A shift is a block of time — for example, 12pm to 3pm for lunch — with rules for slot intervals, party size, and seating capacity.
How shifts work
When a customer wants to book, the storefront only shows times that fall inside an active shift and that have available seats. You can run multiple shifts per day (lunch, dinner) with different rules, and you can set different shifts for different days of the week.
Setting up a shift
Open the dashboard and go to Bookings, then Shifts.
Click Add shift.
Choose the days of the week the shift runs.
Set the start and end times.
Choose a slot interval — usually 15 or 30 minutes.
Set the maximum party size for the shift and the maximum number of guests that can be seated at any one time.
Optionally set a multi-seating limit (how many bookings can start in the same slot).
Save.
Tips
If your kitchen is busiest at the start of dinner, set a smaller multi-seating limit on early slots so orders don't pile up.
Use shorter slot intervals for casual dining and longer intervals for fine dining where guests stay longer.
Shifts can be paused for one-off closures without deleting them.
