Modifier Groups and Customisations

What are modifiers?

Modifiers let customers customise their orders — choose a crust type, add extra toppings, select a sauce, remove ingredients, and more. Modifiers are organised into groups.

Creating a modifier group

  1. In the Menu page, find the Modifier Groups panel on the right side.

  2. Click "+ New Group".

  3. Name the group (e.g., "Crust Type", "Extra Toppings", "Sauces").

  4. Set the group type: Mandatory (customer must choose) or Optional (customer can skip).

  5. Set minimum and maximum selections (e.g., min 1, max 3 for "Choose up to 3 toppings").

  6. Add individual modifier options with their names and any price surcharges.

Assigning modifiers to products

Drag a modifier group from the panel and drop it onto a product or category. When assigned to a category, all products in that category inherit the modifier group.

Free quantity

You can set a "free quantity" on a modifier group — for example, "First 3 toppings free, extras charged". Customers can add up to the free quantity without any extra cost; additional selections are charged at the modifier price.

Whole pizza vs half modifiers

For pizza shops, you can mark a modifier group as "Applies to whole pizza". This is used with the half-and-half ordering feature, where customers can choose different toppings for each half of their pizza.

Variable pricing

Modifier prices can vary by product size. For example, extra cheese might cost $1.50 on a Small pizza but $3.00 on a Family size. Set this up in the modifier group's pricing settings.
