What are item tags?
Item tags are labels you can attach to products to highlight dietary information and characteristics. Common examples include Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free, Spicy, Nut Free, Halal, and New.
Creating tags
In the Menu page, find the Tags section.
Click "+ New Tag".
Enter the tag name and choose a colour. The colour will appear as a small badge next to the product name on your storefront.
Assigning tags to products
You can assign tags to individual products or bulk-assign them to multiple products at once. Tags appear as small coloured badges on product cards, helping customers quickly identify items that meet their dietary needs.
How customers see tags
On your storefront, tags appear as small coloured pills next to the product name. Customers can use these to quickly scan the menu for items that suit their preferences.
Best practices
Keep your tag list focused — too many tags can be overwhelming.
Use consistent names across your menu (e.g., always "GF" or always "Gluten Free", not both).
Highlight popular dietary needs first: Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten Free are the most commonly searched.
