What is half-and-half?
Half-and-half lets customers order a pizza with different toppings on each half. For example, one half Margherita and the other half BBQ Chicken. This is a popular option in Australian pizza shops.
How it works
When customers add toppings to a pizza, they can assign toppings to the left half, right half, or the whole pizza. The checkout and receipt clearly show which toppings go on which side.
Setting up half-and-half
To enable half-and-half ordering for a modifier group:
Open the modifier group in your menu editor.
Enable the "Applies to whole pizza" option.
This tells the storefront that this modifier group supports half-side selection.
When this is enabled, customers will see left/right/whole options when adding toppings from that modifier group.
On receipts and dockets
Half-and-half selections are clearly printed on receipts. Each modifier shows whether it applies to the left half, right half, or whole pizza, so your kitchen staff can prepare the order correctly.
