What is product pausing?
Pausing lets you temporarily hide a product, a specific size, or an entire category of sizes from customers without deleting anything. It is the fastest way to handle a sold-out item or an ingredient shortage during a busy service.
When an item is paused, it appears greyed out on your storefront with an "Unavailable" label, and customers cannot add it to their cart. Once you resume it (or the timer ends), it returns to normal automatically.
How to pause a single product
Open the Merchant App or the Dashboard.
Go to your menu and find the product.
Tap or click the pause button next to the item.
Choose how long to pause it: until end of day, for a set number of hours, or indefinitely.
Confirm.
The change is live within a second or two for any customer browsing your menu.
How to pause a single size
If you have run out of one size only (for example, large pizza bases), you can pause that variant without affecting the rest:
Open the product editor.
Find the size in the variants list.
Tap the pause icon next to that size.
Set a duration if needed.
Customers will still see the product, but the unavailable size will be marked as sold out.
Bulk pause sizes by category
If you run out of a size across many items at once (for example, all small pizzas because you have run out of small pizza bases), use the bulk pause tool in the Merchant App:
Open the menu section in the Merchant App.
Tap the Bulk Pause option.
Choose a category (e.g. Pizzas).
Select the size you want to pause across every item in that category.
Confirm.
This is much faster than pausing each item individually during a rush.
Resuming items
Paused items resume automatically when the timer expires. To resume earlier, open the item and tap Resume. You can also see all currently paused items at a glance in the menu view.
Tips
Use a duration whenever possible so items come back automatically and you do not forget to re-enable them.
For permanent removal, delete or deactivate the product instead of pausing.
If a customer reports that an item appears as unavailable when it should not, check the menu page for any active pauses or sold-out flags.
