Product Stock and Sold Out

What is stock management?

Stock management lets you mark a product as sold out so customers can no longer order it. Unlike pausing, which is meant for temporary breaks with an automatic resume, marking a product sold out is the right choice when you've actually run out of the ingredient or item for the day.

How customers see sold-out items

Sold-out products still appear on your storefront menu but are clearly labelled as sold out and cannot be added to the cart. This keeps the menu visible to customers planning a future visit while preventing orders you can't fulfil.

How to mark a product sold out

  1. Open the dashboard and go to Menu.

  2. Open the product you want to mark sold out.

  3. Toggle the Sold out switch on and save.

You can also mark items sold out directly from the merchant app's Menu tab — useful when you're in service and need to update fast.

Sold out vs paused

  • Use sold out when an item is unavailable for the day. The item stays visible on the storefront with a clear sold-out tag.

  • Use pause when you need to temporarily hide an item, with an automatic resume time.

Tips

  • Reset sold-out items at the start of the next day so they're ready when you reopen.

  • For items that go sold out often, lower the stock or pause them ahead of busy periods.
